LaTonya Yvette is a Brooklyn-born writer and author, raised in a community rooted in storytelling and intentional living. She learned early how narratives shape identity, home, and belonging. This practice culminated in her first book at thirty.

Since then, she has authored three books: Woman of Color (Abrams, 2019), The Hair Book (Union Square, 2022), and Stand In My Window (Dial Press/Penguin Random House, 2024). All are held in the Library of Congress and major academic collections. She has been featured in The New Yorker and Kirkus Reviews, contributed to Suleka Jaoud's The Book of Alchemy, and been recognized by Parents Magazine as one of 100 parents "Redefining 'Home' for the Next Generation."

Through The Mae House, a creative residency in upstate New York rooted in rest and intention, she explores one conviction: that stories sustain communities.
